Heavy rainfall Wednesday through Thursday morning caused at least one accident, according to Cleburne Police Department reports.
Police responded to an accident involving a Toyota Tacoma in the 2800 block of Woodruff Road at 12:44 a.m. Thursday.
The driver, a 24-year-old Cleburne man, was crossing standing water when his truck slid off the road into a drainage ditch and struck a utility pole, according to reports.
Police reports list the man as having suffered possible injury, but he was not transported to the hospital.
Cleburne police and fire officials reported no other weather-related calls.
A wreck involving a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Ford Explorer on Sunday resulted in an Alvarado man being flown to Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital.
The accident occurred at about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Main and Vaughn streets.
The Jeep was traveling southbound in the 3200 block of North Main Street.
At the same time, the Ford was turning left from North Main Street onto West Vaughn Street and struck the passenger side of the Jeep, according to reports.
The impact caused the Jeep to leave the road and roll over on its roof. The driver of the Jeep fled the scene before police arrived, according to reports.
Frank Asebedo Jr., 58, was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Asebedo said he was conducting a left turn on a green arrow when his Ford was struck, according to reports, but witnesses at the scene were unable to verify the position of the light.
Police found an open bottle of Bud Light in the front passenger compartment of Asebedo’s truck and an unopened bottle in an ice chest in the rear of the vehicle, according to reports.
A 70-year-old woman drove into the Wendy’s Restaurant on West Henderson Street on Tuesday, according to reports.
The woman parked in the handicap spot and was unaware that her Ford Ranger was still in drive while she was attempting to affix a handicap placard to her rearview mirror, according to reports.
The woman inadvertently stepped on the gas, causing the truck to move forward and strike the building, according to reports.
Neither she nor a 7-year-old also in the truck were injured.
An aggravated-assault call on Tuesday resulted in the arrest of a man who was later determined not to have been involved in the original incident.
Police responded to the 1700 block of Woodard Avenue at 9:01 p.m. on a reported stabbing.
Police learned that a man had been stabbed but had not been seriously injured. They located a suspect shortly after and investigation into the matter continues, police said.
While investigating the matter, an officer attempted to stop a motorist whom the officer believed may have witnessed or been involved in the incident.
The man, Gregory Edwin Walker, 40, of Hurst, fled the scene but was later apprehended and arrested on charges of evading arrest, driving without a license and a Tarrant County warrant.
Police determined that Walker had nothing to do with the stabbing incident. He happened to be passing through the area at the time.
Police responded to Hill College at 1:44 p.m. Tuesday on a theft call.
A student reported that someone stole his textbook and an mp3 player, according to reports.
