Four family members, including two children, were transported to area hospitals Friday after a woman crashed into their pickup truck causing it to roll over.
The accident occurred about 3:15 p.m. in the 100 block of South Nolan River Road. Cleburne police arrested Erina Kanel, 30, of Keene on a charge of reckless driving and cited her for no driver’s license and no insurance.
A CareFlite helicopter transported a 9-year-old boy to a Fort Worth hospital. Ambulances transported the boy’s parents and infant sibling to area hospitals. The names and conditions of the victims have not been released. Police on scene said their injuries appear to be non-life threatening. The infant, who was secured in a child protective seat, appeared unharmed, but was sent to the hospital as a precaution, police said.
Kanel was not injured in the wreck.
Kanel, driving a Ford Escort, pulled out of the Nolan River Mall parking lot in front of a pickup hauling a trailer traveling northbound on Nolan River Road. That truck managed to avoid the Escort. Kanel allegedly swerved into a Dodge Pickup behind the first pickup, however, and caused it to roll. Kanel drove into a field where her car came to a stop.
