Georgia and Rodger Mason inspect the Bronze Star Award with V device posthumously awarded to their son, Staff Sgt. Johnnie V. Mason, Monday at American Legion Post 648 in Rio Vista. U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Hubert Couch, standing, presented the medal. Mason, a Rio Vista High School graduate, died in Iraq in December 2005 when an explosive device he was working to disarm detonated.
