CLEBURNE —
Cleburne Golf Links hosted the Cleburne High School Fall Classic over the weekend, and Flower Mound Marcus dominated on the girls and boys side.
The highlight of the weekend, though, came from Cleburne golfer Alexandria Ibarra who had a hole-in-one on Saturday’s round on hole 2.
“It was the first for each of us,” Cleburne Coach Pat McHargue said. “Her first as a player, my first as a coach.”
Ibarra led the Lady Jackets, who finished in third place as a team, with a two-round score of 185.
Elizabeth Wren shot 222, C.K. Downing shot 240, Haley Myers had a 283 and Tori Harrison shot a 271.
On the boys side for Cleburne, Jordan Piety led the way as he shot a 154 (81 on round one and 73 on round two). Trent Armstrong shot a 168, Nick Graeve shot a 169, Kylen Roberts had a 170, Dakota Justice shot 178.
Ryan Phipps (186), Bradley Rasmussen (196), Eman Crowley (194), Parker Clovis (233), Daniel Ball (231), Benton Suits (254) and Brendon Ash (229) also participated for the Jackets.
As a team, Flower Mound Marcus took the top two spots in the boys tournament as Flower Mound Marcus’ “A team” shot a 586 while the “B team” shot a 617. Waxahachie came in third place with a total score of 322.
On the girls side, Flower Mound Marcus came in first with a score of 627, Aledo finished second with a 653 and the Lady Jackets placed third as they shot 918.
On Monday, the Cleburne golf team will compete at a tournament at Squaw Valley in Glen Rose.
