Godley police arrested a Godley High School teacher’s aide at 11:20 a.m. Thursday at her home on a charge of improper relationship between educator and student.
Ashley Elizabeth Coleman, 27, of Godley, allegedly sent improper text messages and nude photos to a male student at the school, Godley Police Chief James Healy said.
Healy said the boy and his mother filed a complaint at GPD on Jan. 7, and that investigation led to sufficient evidence to supply probable cause for an arrest warrant.
Several additional students at the school apparently saw the text messages and photos as well, Healy said.
Investigation uncovered that Coleman allegedly engaged in similar activity with another student at the high school last year, who has since graduated, Healy said.
Justice of the Peace Precinct 1 Judge Ronnie McBroom magistrated Coleman Friday morning and set her bond at $50,000.
Godley ISD Superintendant Paul Smithson referred to Coleman as a former employee Friday morning when asked about her current status with the district. Smithson said Coleman had worked at the high school for two years.
