Poster winners announced
The winners in a poster contest to design the new Godley city park, sponsored by Southwest Properties and Construction, were announced recently.
In the kindergarten to fifth-grade category, the third place went to Robyn Lively, the daughter of Gina Lively, and second place to Rachel Gorman, the daughter of Scott Gorman. Both received a trophy. In first was Brooklyne Oliveira, the daughter of Luiz and Marta Oliveira. Oliveira received an Acer Aspire One Netbook .
In the sixth- to eighth-grad category, third place went to Chelcie Self, the daughter of Amy and Mickey Burney, and second to Kasey Richardson, the daughter of JoAnn Richardson, both of whom won a trophy
Top prize winner was Christian Oliveira, son of Luiz and Marta Oliveira, who received an Acer Aspire One Netbook.
In the ninth- to 12th-grade category, second place went to Steven Gomez, son of Lori and Johnny Gomez. Gomez won a trophy.
Graduating senior Julian Ramirez, son of Lon Genzer, won the category and received an Acer Aspire One Netbook.

All four Johnson County teams in District 15-2A were represented on the all-district team which was announced recently.

Brock ends Wildcats’ season
Godley’s season came to an end on Friday night after a 48-45 loss to Brock in the Class 2A regional semifinals at Tarleton State University.
