A wreck involving a tractor trailer and a sports utility vehicle in Godley on Saturday caused the death of three individuals.
The wreck occurred about at 3:30 p.m. in the 100000 block of Texas 171 near County Road 1001.
The SUV, traveling north, collided with a southbound Mack tractor hauling a large piece of construction equipment, according to James Healy, chief administrator of the Godley Police Department.
The SUV carried five people, all Weatherford residents, Healy said. The driver and two passengers died in the collision. Rescue workers transported the other two occupants to area hospitals in unknown condition. The victim’s names have not been released.
The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.
Godley police and fire personal responded to the scene as did Cresson firefighters, Department of Public Safety troopers and CareFlite rescue workers, Healy said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Godley Police Department, Healy said.
