Saturday brings with it an election for two bond packages and several school board contests in districts across the area.
zx Cleburne — Cleburne ISD’s election has two contested seats.
Brad Allen, Wendell Dempsey and Cindy Mangrum are going for the Place 1 spot, while Lori Zachary and MJ Larrison are vying for the unexpired Place 6 term.
Place 2 incumbent and board President Stu Madison is unopposed.
Place 1 incumbent Donna Boles is not seeking re-election. Place 6 incumbent Dean Woodruff took over the seat in June after Allen gave it up so the district could hire his brother. Woodruff is not seeking re-election.
CISD candidates file for a position and are elected at-large.
zx Godley — Board Vice President Barbara Willis is running unopposed, while newcomer Ricky Roden will take over for incumbent Paul McPherson. McPherson is not seeking re-election. The vote is at-large, but Willis and Roden are the only candidates on the ballot.
Voters will also decide on the district’s $27.78 bond package that focuses on renovations and upgrades at all campuses, particularly the decades-old Godley Intermediate School where a new wing is planned if the bond passes.
