Liquor vote passes
RIO VISTA — It failed twice, but the third time proved a charm for liquor sales in Rio Vista. Saturday’s local option election concerned the sale of liquor for off-premise consumption within city limits. The measure narrowly passed by a 118-116 vote.
Allen, Larrison win CISD board seats
Brad Allen and MJ Larrison are the newest members of the Cleburne ISD school board, voters decided Saturday.
Reynolds overcomes Miller for mayor
Both Cleburne City Council incumbents vying for re-election emerged victorious Saturday.
Mahanay joins Burleson City Council
BURLESON — Carter Len Mahanay emerged victorious Saturday night in the three-way race for Burleson City Council’s fourth seat.
Keene, Godley bonds pass
Two bond elections and several school board races were decided in Saturday’s elections for districts in the area.
Joshua Mayor re-elected
Joshua city elections saw a turnout of 149 voters. Voters weighed in on four city council seats and 10 propositions. All ten propositions passed.

Saturday brings with it an election for two bond packages and several school board contests in districts across the area.
Candidates stress community participation
Of all the Johnson County cities holding elections tomorrow, Grandview is guaranteed the biggest turnover. The incumbents in all three city council seats up for election chose not to seek another term. They are Councilwoman Barbara LeBaron, Place 1 incumbent; Councilman Harold Laird, Place 3 incumbent; and Councilman Jay Davis, Place 5 incumbent.
