Incumbents win heavily in city and school races across county
Incumbents seeking re-election in Saturday’s city council elections throughout the county were successful in all but one case. The incumbent in that race, the Joshua City Council Place 4 contest, may yet secure re-election as a runoff will be required to settle the question.
Voters in Joshua, Rio Vista and Burleson weighed in on city council and school board elections Saturday.
Grandview had no contested council elections, but did hold school board elections.
Alvarado and Godley also had no contested council elections.
The city of Keene holds its elections in November.

The Place 6 incumbent, Councilman Bob Neely, secured his reelection by collecting 115 votes. His opponent, Larry Allen, collected 86 votes.

The date for the Place 4 run-off remains to be determined, City Secretary Mary Beth Thomas said.
