McNulty reported to become Smithville ISD superintendent
Rock McNulty, longtime Rio Vista ISD superintendent, is expected to become new superintendent at Smithville ISD between Austin and Hearne, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Attempts Friday to reach McNulty or representatives of the Smithville and Rio Vista school boards were unsuccessful.
Smithville made McNulty its lone finalist for the post. Texas law requires the board to allow at least 21 days between the time a finalist is announced and an employment contract is signed. McNulty is in the final year of his contract at Rio Vista. The Rio Vista board declined to renew it in January.
