FCCLA members attend Region II conference and competition

Members of the Godley High School chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended the Region II conference in San Angelo on March 5-7.

The chapter members were among 800 delegates attending.

The youth-developed theme, Find Your Treasure with FCCLA, was carried out through a series of specialized workshops and general sessions.

Students Taking Action for Recognition events are competitions that members will participate in at the regional meeting. These events will allow members to showcase their life skills in different areas of competition. Seven members of the Godley High chapter competed in STAR Events.

Crystal Espinoza won fifth place in senior job interview and Brittany Bowie won second place in junior applied technology. They will advance to state competition in April in Corpus Christi.

FCCLA is a youth organization that focuses on family, with programs related to parenting, child development, personal and financial management, interior design, entrepreneurship, food service, nutrition, institutional maintenance, hospitality and career awareness.
