Thirteen secretaries, teacher aides and cafeteria staff who play major roles in the classroom and on the campus, have been honored as Cleburne ISD’s 2009 Paraprofessionals of the Year.
Special guests at the annual CISD Employee Appreciation Banquet, sponsored by Members Credit Union, were campus honorees Alice Parker, Tina Hundley, Carmen Aguirre, Marie Frazier, Diana Lozano, Patricia Riley, Teresa Rinehart, Joyce Riney, Elaine Campbell, Cheryl Bailey, Lee Underwood, Tami Murphy and Debbie McClure.
“The paraprofessionals of the year are selected by their campus staff,” said Randy Stone, executive director of human resources. “Our paraprofessionals are a hardworking group who are a very important part of the education process.
“They keep things on track, they are their principal’s right hand and they help our students learn and achieve. We can’t do without them.”
Parker is Adams Elementary’s 2009 Paraprofessional of the Year and serves the campus as a library aide. Tina Hundley, who is in her twelfth year as a member of the Coleman Elementary staff, is a computer lab aide.
C.C. Cooke Elementary’s Paraprofessional of the Year is Carmen Aguirre, who is a member of the campus office staff. Marie Frazier, secretary to the principal at Gerard Elementary, was her school’s Para of the Year.
Irving Elementary’s honoree is Diana Lozano, who serves as school receptionist. Patricia Raley, who is an English as a Second Language classroom aide, is Marti Elementary’s Paraprofessional of the Year.
Also among the honorees is Teresa Rinehart, secretary to the principal at Santa Fe Elementary; Joyce Riney, registrar at Smith Middle School; Elaine Campbell, Wheat Middle School cafeteria manager; Cheryl Bailey, counseling center secretary, Cleburne High School; Lee Underwood, receptionist at Fulton Education Center; Tami Murphy, TEAM School secretary; and Debbie McClure, secretary of the Phoenix Campus.
