    Music will fill the air Saturday evening as the 224 students making up the all-district and all-region choirs are presented in concert at the Don Smith Performing Arts Center.

    Cleburne High School senior Alexis “Lexy” Hitchcock has been honored by the 2010 National Merit Scholarship program as a commended student.

  • Coleman Elementary open after Monday lockdown
    Coleman Elementary went into lockdown procedures for close to 45 minutes Monday afternoon as police searched the campus for the driver allegedly involved in a hit and run accident near the school, according to a press release from CISD Spokeswoman Lisa Magers.

  • CISD campuses given gold performance acknowledgement
    Thirteen Texas Education Agency Gold Performance Acknowledgements relating to high academic performance have been awarded to Cleburne schools in conjunction with the release of final accountability ratings for 2009.

    The Cleburne ISD board received its’s 12th monthly report on it’s progress on the Texas Education Agency’s corrective action plan at Monday night’s meeting, with Texas Education Agency monitor Dr. Monte Geren reporting far more improvements than unchanged issues.

    The Cleburne High School and Smith Middle School choirs will present a patriotic concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Don Smith Performing Arts Center.
