Thieves loot foreclosed house

Some $14,900 worth of property was stolen from a foreclosed house with shed on Oak Hill Road in Alvarado on Dec. 29, according to Johnson County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Items taken were a large, free-standing, electric range valued at $1,200, rock fireplace mantle, bedroom carpet valued at $200, Goodman air conditioning condenser valued at $2,500, copper wiring valued at $5,500, copper from workshop building valued at $5,500 and copper from hot water heater.

On Dec. 23 on County Road 913 in Godley, someone entered a residence and took a Browning 7mm rifle with a 3 x 10 scope valued at $1,250; a passport in the name of Kirk Carrell; a gold band with six diamonds valued st $1,250; a gold pinkie ring, Texas design with diamonds, valued at $1,200; a Canadian gold coin valued at $200; four silver dollars; a $10 gold piece valued at $400; a 12-gauge shotgun valued at $250; and a U.S. Army silver watch valued at $200.

Officers responded to a New Year’s Day disturbance involving an ex-husband and ex-wife on County Road 206 in Alvarado. A third party reported an assault that allegedly took place at another location.

On New Year’s Day on Meyer Court in Joshua, deputies took one man, Brandon DeWayne Tingley, into custody in connection with a habitation burglary. The subject is accused of entering the residence without permission and taking a camera valued at $119.

On New Year’s Day on U.S. 67 in Venus, a complainant said a suspect assaulted him.

Last Thursday on County Road 805A in Cleburne, a suspect is accused of scratching complainant during altercation.

Last Wednesday on County Road 645 in Alvarado, Whitney Dady was taken into custody. She is accused of throwing a plastic object at her father and causing an injury.

Last Wednesday on U.S. 67 in Cleburne, complainant was allegedly assaulted by actor on two separate occasions.

Dec. 26 on Kelly Lane in Alvarado, a suspect is accused of scratching and hit complainant, causing injury.

    Alvarado and Cleburne firefighters pulled the body of a man from moving water near County Road 607 caused by rain about 1 p.m. Wednesday. The man attempted to cross a high-water crossing in his truck and became stuck, Cleburne Fire Chief Clint Ishmael said. According to reports, rescue workers saw the man in the water earlier Wednesday morning but were unable to reach him. The identity of the man has not been released.
