Wreck sends three to hospital

A Monday afternoon wreck involving two Chevrolet pickups resulted in injuries to three people.

The accident occurred at about 5:50 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 67 and the U.S. 67 access road near Home Depot in Cleburne.

A pickup hauling a flatbed trailer carrying a washing machine and dryer, driven by James Hall, 20, of Godley, made an illegal left turn from the access road onto U.S. 67 and ran into the second pickup, which was traveling on U.S. 67, police said.

Hall’s truck slid on its side as a result of the impact but landed upright, police said.

Hall and Diana Dillard, the driver of the second truck, were transported by CareFlite ambulance to Fort Worth hospitals with nonlife-threatening injuries.

James Peabody, 19, of Burleson, a passenger in Hall’s truck, was transported by CareFlite helicopter to Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital.

Witnesses at the scene pulled Peabody from the truck because they initially thought the truck was on fire.

Although Peabody’s injuries appeared serious at the scene, police said he appears not to have suffered serious injury.

Police said they believe Hall and Dillard have since been treated and released from the hospital.
