Body found in creek identified as that of missing woman
The body of a woman found in a creek bed in Cleburne Friday night has been identified as that of 67-year-old Virginia Burns, according to the Tarrant Count Medical Examiner's public access Web site.
Burns had been staying at a nursing home in Keene, but was spending time a relative’s home in the 700 block of North Main Street in Cleburne when she was last seen on Oct 9.
Police responded to a call at about 6 p.m. Friday near Buffalo Creek and discovered the decomposed body of an adult female, according to a release from Sgt. Amy Knoll.
The body was in a wooded area near the creek about five blocks from where Burns was last seen.
The cause of death is still pending.
