A Monday traffic stop for littering led to one man’s arrest.
A Cleburne officer saw a man throw a baggie out the window of his vehicle near Anglin and Boone streets at about 11:14 p.m., according to reports.
The officer stopped the man and retrieved the bag, which contained marijuana, according to reports. The officer arrested Steve Calderon Chanta, 28, of Cleburne on charges of possession of marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.
Also on Monday, a woman visited the police station to report that she let a relative borrow her car for three hours on Friday.
She told police she has not heard from the relative since, according to reports.
Police answered three theft calls on Monday, two of which involved belated thefts.
Police responded to Wheat Middle School at 11:33 a.m. on a report that someone stole a pair of shoes on Oct. 13, according to reports.
A second Oct. 13 theft was also not reported until Monday.
A man visited the police station to report that someone stole a book on CD and a cell phone from his car, according to reports. The man apparently did not realize the items were missing until later, according to reports.
A woman entered the police station at 6:14 p.m. to report that someone stole her Social Security card and used it to obtain an account with Dish Network, according to reports.
Police responded to a business in the 1900 block of Sparks Drive on Sunday. Someone stole a large amount of copper from the location, according to reports.
An unknown vehicle struck a Ford Mustang sometime between 5-6 p.m. Oct. 28 in the 300 block of Bales Street, according to reports.
The Mustang was legally parked in the roadway along the south curb facing east, according to reports. The driver of the unknown vehicle struck the left panel of the Mustang and left the scene without notifying the owner, according to reports.
