Flu shot information

The swine flu vaccine is expected by mid-October according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, but flu season is here and the department urges people to get their seasonal flu shots now to protect themselves and others from infection.

Check with your physician for availability. Here are several area pharmacies that are offering seasonal flu shots now.



zx Best Value Royce’s Pharmacy at 502 N. Main St. in Cleburne will offer $25 flu shots Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

zx Walgreens at 1621 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne will offer flu shots for $24.99 today from 10 a.m. to noon.

zx Kroger at 1617 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne will offer flu shots by appointment for $25 Monday through Saturday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Insurance is accepted.

zx Family Medicine Associates will offer $25 flu shots this Saturday only at their Health and Heart Center at 220 N. Ridgeway Drive in Cleburne from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

zx CVS Pharmacy at 614 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne will offer flu shots Oct. 7 only for $30 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

zx Albertson’s Sav-On Pharmacy at 210 W. Katherine P. Raines Road in Cleburne will offer $24.99 flu shots Oct. 4 and Oct. 16 only from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. People can save $5 with the RX-tra Savings program.

zx Walmart Supercenter at 1616 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne will offer $28 flu shots Oct. 7-8 only from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Insurance is accepted.

zx H-E-B at 600 W. Henderson St. in Cleburne will offer $25 flu shots today at a flu clinic from 9 a.m. to noon. Otherwise, shots are available by appointment. Another flu clinic is planned for next week but details are undetermined at this time.

    The first-team offense included Alvarado quarterback Kenny West and Burleson quarterback Barrett Cain.

    The 2011 Lone Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Autoplex All-Johnson-County football team has been announced. The team was chosen by the Times-Review sports department based on all-district selections and coaches’ nominations.
    The second-team offense was led by Cleburne’s Quade Coward and Godley’s Rhett Brawner as the second-team quarterbacks.
