By Matt Smith/msmith@trcle.com

A female employee of a Shell Station on South Main Street allegedly obtained a new, unused spool of Texas scratch-off lottery tickets from the business, according to Cleburne Police Department reports.

The store’s video surveillance camera later caught the woman cashing in the stolen tickets at the store, according to reports.

Police responded to the store Dec. 25 to talk to the manager. The investigation is ongoing, CPD officials said, and no arrests have been made.

Saltwater spill

Police responded to a Chesapeake Energy gas well site Thursday on a criminal mischief call. An employee at the site, in the 100 block of Thunder Bay Road, told police that unknown persons entered the locked premises sometime between Wednesday and Thursday night and opened several valves on the site’s saltwater storage tanks.

Police determined that an unknown amount of saltwater had been released onto the ground. The spill was contained within the confines of the pad site, according to reports.

Countdown to DWI

Police arrested a Cleburne man on a charge of driving while intoxicated shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Police stopped Jason Lee Guidry, 22, at 11:23 p.m. near the intersection of Henderson and Granbury streets. A complainant called police, according to reports, and said he had followed Guidry from Whitney and that Guidry could not maintain a single lane of traffic. Police charged Guidry with driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

Wrong place at the wrong time

Cleburne police assisted Keene police Friday morning in locating a hit-and-run suspect. Both went to a house in the 200 block of South Washington Street at 1:40 a.m.

Police were unable to locate the suspect. Another resident at the house, Brandon Ryan Marchman, 33, of Cleburne was arrested after a computer check revealed outstanding warrants in his name.

An officer stopped to investigate an unattended car parked in the traffic lane near the intersection of Claude and Robinson streets Thursday.

A computer check revealed Johnson County warrants for the car’s owner. Juanita Ortiz, 28, of Cleburne was arrested when she returned to the car.
