Bees send three to hospital
Goatneck race proves rough for one rider
Three workers cutting down trees and clearing brush received an unpleasant surprise on Monday courtesy of a bee attack, according to reports.
All three received multiple stings, according to reports.
Rescue workers said they were unable to locate the hive and believe the bees must have been must have been swarming in the area when the workers disturbed their activities.
The workers were transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Cleburne. Details of their conditions have not been released.
Goatneck wreck
A 32-year-old Dallas man suffered injury on Saturday while participating in the 22nd Annual Goatneck Bike Ride.
Clint Nolen hit his brakes and flew over his handle bars, landing on the roadway after a car pulled out in front of him, according to reports.
A CareFlite ambulance transported Nolen to John Peter Smith hospital, where he was treated and released the same day.
Pawn ticket
A man reported on July 21 that someone burglarized his vehicle and stole a pawn ticket.
The victim told police that the person later visited the pawn shop and used the purloined ticket to purchase the man’s belongings.
Another man returned from vacation on Sunday to find his home on Vaughn Road had been burglarized, according to reports.
Someone apparently gained entrance to the home by cutting a screen and breaking a storm window off its hinge.
The suspect also broke into a locked closet in one of the bedrooms stealing additional items, according to reports.
Police took pictures of the crime scene but were unable to lift fingerprints because of the weather and because the occupants of the home had touched the affected areas, according to reports.
Also on Sunday, a woman reported to police that someone stole her daughter’s bicycle in the 500 block of Marengo Street, according to reports.
