The 23rd Annual Meals-on-Wheels Golf Benefit, set for Sept. 16, at Cleburne Golf Links, is ready for its big day.
“Our field is now full,” exclaimed Ike Vera, Golf Benefit chairman. The Benefit was limited to the first 66 teams to register, and registrations were accepted until the field was full, on a first come first served basis.
“Although our field is full, it is not too late to get your raffle tickets or sign up as a hole sponsor of the benefit,” said Amy Jackson, director of development for Meals-on-Wheels.
Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance for $5 each or five for $20 online at www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org or by calling Meals-on-Wheels at 817-558-2840.
Prizes include round trip airfare anywhere Southwest Airlines flies, sporting event tickets, including to Dallas Cowboys football and Texas Rangers baseball games, and lots of other great items that may also be viewed online.
All proceeds directly benefit Meals-on-Wheels services. If you are interested in sponsoring or helping at the Golf Benefit visit www.servingthechildrenofyesterday.org or call the Meals-on-Wheels office.
“We also always need people willing to volunteer to work the event,” Jackson said. “We invite the entire community to come out and join us — whether you play golf or not. It’s a great way to be more involved in helping the elderly homebound in our community.”
