Joint auction scheduled for Saturday
A joint auction between the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Stop the Offender Special Crimes Unit, or STOP, will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, not on Aug. 17 as was previously reported.
Preview of the items begins at 8:30 a.m. with the sale beginning at 10 a.m. The auction takes place at the sheriff’s office at 1102 E. Kilpatrick St. in Cleburne.
Bidders may register at the purchasing office adjacent to the sheriff’s office.
The items to be auctioned are seized, abandoned or surplus items.

Items to be auctioned include office electronics, office furniture, used police cars, sporting rifles and shotguns, welders, motorcycles, trailers, new and used tools, camcorders, cameras, a four wheeler and other vehicles. One item sure to draw interest is a 2006 yellow Corvette with less than 10,000 miles. The Corvette, listed in near-perfect condition, will be on site at 8 a.m. allowing potential bidders the opportunity to inspect the car.
Joe Pippin Auctioneers will conduct the auction. Payment will be accepted by cash or check with a letter of guaranty payable to auctioneer.
All sales must be paid the day of the auction. Attendees must be at least 16 years old.
Gun buyers must be Texas residents and must submit to a background check.
