Suspicious vehicle leads to drug arrest
A traffic stop in the parking lot of Caddo Street Grill on Friday led to the arrest of one man on a charge of possession of marijuana.
Police stopped the vehicle based on reports that the driver had been seen parking next to numerous unoccupied vehicles in the lot, with no one in the suspect vehicle getting in or out.
While talking to the driver, Daniel Garcia, 22, of Cleburne, an officer detected a faint smell of marijuana, according to reports.
Garcia allegedly denied having marijuana in the vehicle initially but later admitted he did, according to reports.
Police confiscated the marijuana and arrested Garcia on a charge of possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
Police arrested a Cleburne woman on Sunday based on an alleged hit-and-run accident.
The incident occurred at 12:01 a.m. in the 800 block of North Robinson Street.
Police located and stopped the suspect vehicle as it approached North Main Street.
The driver, Christina Kay Miles, 36, of Cleburne, was found to be intoxicated and arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to reports.
Police later determined the vehicle Miles was said to have hit suffered no damage.
A disturbance
and a ruined laptop
Police responded to a disturbance call at 12:13 p.m. Sunday and issued a man a citation for class C assault.
The man is accused of assaulting a woman with a pen during an argument, according to reports.
A woman reported to police on Thursday that someone intentionally poured a drink onto her laptop and ruined it.
Fire calls
A resident quelled a small grass fire in the 1400 block of Old Bridge Road on Sunday before firefighters arrived.
The man said he had been using his barbecue grill earlier and thought it was extinguished, according to reports.
Hot coals and ashes falling from the grill apparently set the grass on fire. Firefighters reported no injuries or damage.
A second Sunday fire call, in the 1400 block of Mimosa Street, turned out to be a man burning wood planks.
Firefighters arrived to find the man burning wood planks from an old fence in cut-off barrel, according to reports.
After being informed he could not burn the planks, the man doused the fire with a water hose, according to reports.
Firefighters advised the man to haul the fence planks away.
