Car accident claims life of infant boy

The baby boy of a pregnant woman died in a Fort Worth hospital on Thursday morning several hours after a head-on collision in Burleson.

A CareFlite helicopter flew the woman to a Fort Worth hospital where the baby was delivered and died a short time later.

The baby, identified as Baby Boy Roberts on the Tarrant County Medical Examiners’ website died at 12:09 a.m.

The site lists the baby as a Cleburne resident.

The mother’s name, and details of her condition, have not been released.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 6400 block of Farm-to-Market Road 1902.

The driver of the second vehicle suffered minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital by private vehicle as a precaution, said Cindy Aaron, Burleson police commander.

Investigation of the accident remains ongoing, Aaron said.

Burleson police and firefighters responded to the scene, assisted by Joshua firefighters.

The driver of a Mitsubishi Montero, traveling eastbound, allegedly veered right toward a Honda Accord and Suzuki Forenza, both of which were parked on the side of the road and unoccupied. The Mitsubishi scraped along the side of the Honda and struck the left corner of the Suzuki, according to reports.
