Investigator: Woman admitted having sex with teen

From Staff Reports

The woman charged with having sex with an underage teenage boy indicated to an investigator that she engaged in sexual intercourse with him.

Julie von Tungeln, 43, of Cleburne turned herself in at the Johnson County Correction Center Friday morning and was subsequently charged with sexual assault, a second-degree felony.

In his arrest warrant affidavit, Sean Bagwell of the Cleburne Police Department stated that the teen’s mother told him she had discovered text messages on the boy’s phone that indicated he was involved in a sexual relationship with von Tungeln.

She gave Bagwell the phone, and he reviewed the messages, finding what he termed “sexually explicit” communications between the boy and someone identified as “Sexy Jules,” according to the affidavit.

He visited with von Tungeln at her house and she “plainly stated and/or indicated” that she knew the boy, who was her daughter’s boyfriend, that she had sent the text messages, and that she had sex with the boy once at his house in July, according to the affidavit.

Bagwell visited with the boy the same day. The boy told Bagwell that he knew von Tungeln through his relationship with her daugher and that he had sex with her.

Police continue to investigate and confirm that two other teens have been identified as possible victims, said Sgt. Amy Knoll of CPD. No other teens are believed to be involved, she said.

Calls to the residence and to the cell phone identified in the affidavit went to answering machines. Von Tungeln did not respond to a message left on the phones.
