Baby boy drowns in pool

— A 22-month-old boy drowned Thursday in a neighbor’s pool and was pronounced dead at 12:06 p.m. at Cook Children’s Medical Center.
The accident occurred in the 5900 block of Strawberry Ridge Lane near County Road 911.
A family member lost track of Brennan Sweeten and went next door to a neighbor’s house looking for him, according to reports. The neighbor said she had not seen Sweeten and went to check her backyard. The neighbor and family member found Sweeten face down in an above-ground pool. There are no fences between homes in that area, Cpl. Pam Jetsel of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Joshua and Godley firefighters along with CareFlite and sheriff’s personnel responded to the scene about 10:51 a.m.
Resuscitation efforts were started and continued by CareFlite rescue workers who transported Sweeten to Cook Children’s by helicopter where he was later pronounced dead.
