Beverly White, left, of Cleburne tastes a cantaloupe before purchasing one from Todd Hightower, also of Cleburne, on Thursday. Hightower fills his truck with fruit every day during the summer and sells it from about 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of Caddo and Westhill streets. On weekends he stays longer, he said, depending on the heat. He sells the fruit, some homegrown and the rest from local providers or markets, on consignment from Jesse Rubio. He is a special needs teacher at Adams Elementary during the school year.
