FFA shares pumpkins, Bible verses
Alvarado FFA officers took time out of their busy weekend to deliver pumpkins to the Alvarado Meadows Rehabilitation Center on Oct. 25.
Before the delivery, the officers and fellow FFA members decorated the pumpkins with Bible verses.
“Few people realize that the FFA was founded on Christian principles and was created by Christian people,” said Christie Renfro, Alvarado chapter president. “It was great to see how the patients’ faces lit up and to see them smile when they were handed a pumpkin.”
The pumpkins, which were donated by Davis Farm of Grandview, were an instant hit.
“It feels good to know that we might have made at least one person’s day just a little bit more joyful by taking an hour or two out of our Sunday afternoon to pass out pumpkins,” said Lexi Williams, Alvarado chapter vice president.
