AEN sweeps fire prevention poster contest
The 2008 Alvarado Fire Department Fire Prevention Poster contest was conducted Oct. 13-17 in the Alvarado ISD. Alvarado Elementary North won the top three places for all three elementary divisions. The student’s posters will be presented at the district fire meeting. The winners were, from left, back row, intermediate division, Knake Brown, Shelby Newton and Christian Warren; primary division, Mason Caruthers, Ashlyn Ramsey and Cade Bennett; and front row, kindergarten division, Dalton Dollison, Giovanna Owens and Jared Whiting.

AJH students earn top ratings at contest
Alvarado Junior High singers Courtney Rambo, Stephanie Pollock, Karlee Beach, Tara Kitchens, Dario Feria and Brody Randolph each received a first division score on their respective solo during last week’s Solo and Ensemble competition.
